Learning to SimplifySimplifying your life can take many forms. It basically means to reduce the amount of distraction, to cut out the excess. This gives you more time and attention to focus on God and his purposes for your life. The easy answer to a distracting life is to cut out some of your activities. However, the distraction and excess isn’t always a scheduling problem. The truth is, scheduling problems are frequently the result of other problems. If you are struggling with not knowing what your priorities should be, perhaps you are overwhelmed with being involved in too many good things, your first step to a simpler life could be to learn to live a life of purpose. If you are struggling with trying to make everyone happy, working to achieve approval or feeling overwhelmed and discouraged with the way your life is going, your first step to a simpler life could be to learn to be judged by God alone. If you are struggling with feelings of being unsure how to begin making a decision, hesitating and procrastinating on what seems important points because you aren’t sure what is right, your first step to a simpler life could be to learn how to apply truth and knowledge with wisdom. If you are struggling with feeling separated from God without knowing why, overwhelmed with life and full of questions, your first step to a simpler life could be to begin arranging to spend an hour with God.
